The Shared Earth Trust at Denmark Farm, near Lampeter have completed an ambitious expansion to provide self catering holiday accommodation in a new wing and at the same time installed a biomass system to heat the new building, the existing farm buildings (accommodation and offices) and the old farm house.

Following a detailed heat load calculation and design 2 x 35kW Biotech boilers linked to a 1500lit buffer store were specified and installed in the new build are. Space heating and DHW is then distributed to the 3 detached buildings via heat exchangers and insulated below ground pipes. This system will provide all the heat required for the 3 buildings concerned and the Trust can access the funding stream available through the commercial Renewable Heat Incentive.
