WHA Conference 2018 – the UK’s most important Bioenergy conference

The conference has been rescheduled to 13th – 14th March 2018

Organised by the Wood Heat Association and the Renewable Energy Association, Wood Heat 2018 brings together all parts of the UK biomass heat and CHP industry in a unique event designed to share and promote good practice.

Once again, our industry has experienced a year of uncertainty, with further consultation on the second phase of the Renewable Heat Incentive and the rules governing drying, and the ongoing complications of what Brexit will actually mean in practice. The installation of smaller commercial and domestic biomass installations has virtually stopped, and low fossil fuel prices have been sustained throughout 2017.

The WHA conference programme is carefully put together to meet the current information needs of the UK biomass heat and CHP industry, and puts individuals drawn from across the supply chain in the same room for two days of technical, market and legislative updates. Attracting biomass professionals from the length and breadth of the UK, the WHA conference remains the “must attend” event in the UK’s biomass energy calendar.

The conference includes speakers from Government, industry and the public sector, and will also continue our theme of learning from overseas experts, featuring speakers from Switzerland, Italy and Sweden.

Conference topics will include:
• The outlook for biomass heat and CHP, with speakers from BEIS and Ofgem;
• Biomass boiler efficiencies;
• Biomass emissions and their abatement;
• Biomass ESCo’s;
• Current H&S issues in the biomass sector;
• Biomass ash and the options for benecial use;
• The Biomass Suppliers List and Sustainable Fuel Register.

Wood Heat 2018 will give you the knowledge and contacts to make the most of the opportunities still to be found in the UK biomass energy sector.

The 2016 conference in Edinburgh was our largest yet, and was attended by over 120 biomass energy
professionals from across the UK and Europe. With 94% of those attending stating that would be likely or very likely to attend this year, we’re expecting a strong turnout from across the industry.
